HOMEMADE INDIAN FRYBREAD

Indian Fry Bread – also known as Navajo Tacos, it’s a flat dough bread that’s fried until crispy perfection. Top them with savory taco ground meat mixture as an appetizer or lunch or simply with honey and butter as a sweet afternoon delight. Simply a fantastic meal accompaniment at any time of the day!

HOW TO MAKE INDIAN FRYBREAD?

Ingredients:

4 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons baking soda

Water.

Directions:

I usually only take half the flour at first (Mix it with all of the other dry ingredients) and add water until you get a paste, then slowly add more flour until you get a nice soft dough.

You want your pieces of dough to be about 1/2 inch thick. Fry this in lard until it’s golden brown.

Coat with butter after removing from pan.

Note:

I don’t measure the water. I add warm water until I get the paste.

Enjoy.
