Old Fashion Cinnamon Swirl Bread


1 cup butter, room temperature
2 2/3 cups sugar, divided
2 tsps. Cinnamon
2 eggs
2 cups butter milk, see variation below
4 cups flour
2 tsps. Baking soda


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 9×5 loaf pans.
In a small bowl mix together 2/3 cup sugar and cinnamon, set aside.

In a large bowl cream together butter, 2 cups sugar, and eggs. Stir in milk. Mix together flour and baking soda, stir into batter.

In each prepared loaf pan place 1/4 of the batter. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of batter in each loaf pan.

Top with remaining batter in each loaf pan. Sprinkle top of each pan with remaining cinnamon and sugar mixture. Give the top of the batter a swirl with a knife.

Bake for about 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven, let cool about 30 minutes.

Remove bread from loaf pans. Makes 2 loaves of the best bread you will ever eat!
